Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high quality Biology lessons across Junior and Senior School groups, aligned to CBC and 8-4-4 syllabuses.
• Design and supervise practical laboratory work; ensure laboratory safety, stock control and practical assessment.
• Prepare learners for candidate classes (exam/assessment preparation, past-paper practice, marking & feedback).
• Maintain accurate assessment records and communicate student progress.
• Contribute to departmental planning, resource development, and curriculum review.
• Participate in school life beyond the classroom, including co-curricular activities, pastoral responsibilities, clubs or teams.

Essential qualifications & experience

• Bachelor’s degree (Biology or closely related) and a recognized teaching qualification.
• Valid TSC registration (or equivalent) and demonstrable classroom experience across Junior & Senior School.
• Strong practical science skills and familiarity with laboratory safety and equipment.

Desirable

• Prior experience in high-performing schools or international curricula.
• Experience with data-driven teaching, formative assessment techniques, and exam preparation strategies.
• Proven evidence of preparing candidate classes (KCSE 8-4-4 and/or IGCSE).
• Willingness to contribute to co-curricular programmes and school events.
