Waitstaff

Primary Purpose and Scope the Job (Job Role)-
  • To welcome, sit, take & serve food and beverage orders to our guests in a friendly, timely manner and ensure a clean environment in accordance to Java service standards
    Duties and Responsibilities of a Waitstaff
  • Presenting a variety of menu options and take lead on suggestive selling based on customer preferences.
  • Handling customer interactions at various levels of customer touch points.
  • Assist the guest navigate through the menu comfortably- Inform guests of menu changes, daily specials and assist the guest navigate through the menu comfortably.
  • Taking orders and delivering them to the table neatly and accurately in accordance to the ticket specification.
  • Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service respond promptly and courteously to address any guest concern ¬ify the manager.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Ensuring there is enough change at all times.
  • Maintaining shift float money and ensuring no shortages.
  • Timely closure of counter variances.
  • Taking care of counter machines.
  • Present bills on time and accept payment.
  • Ordering of items in Vuka for the store.
  •  Receiving of items from Food scape/ any other supplier.
  •  Keying in of orders in the POS.
  •  Receiving orders from the aggregator tabs
  •  Packing and dispatching the orders to the guests
  •  Table clearance and clean counters after guests have finished dining
  • Communicating any R&M or IT issues to the Area Manager.

  •  Check the quality of the final servings and resolve any issues accordingly based on recommended food and beverage standards.

  •  Communication-attend shift briefings, communicate cautiously to the guest.
  •  Ensure necessary orders for proper mis-en place are given to the manager for ordering.

2. Branch Supervisor

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all restaurant policies and procedures, standards specifications and guidelines are followed and completed on a timely basis.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, food preparation and serving, repair and maintenance.
  • Ensure company objectives in sales, service quality, appearance of facility and hygiene through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment through organizing and supervising regular Branch deep cleaning.
  • Adhere to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Prevent, handle and resolve complaints regarding food quality and service.
    Sample food and drink items by testing to ensure palatability and flavor conformity through regular store audits.
  • Prevent and resolve personnel problems
  • Minimise guest complaints by ensuring all guests are served. This will be done by ensuring 95% of their time is spent on floor coverage.
  • Taking correct take away orders and ensuring they are correctly dispensed
  • Suggestive selling products and introduction of new ones to guests
  • Maintaining high hygiene standards at the cashier station
  • Ensure cutlery is wiped, polished and well displayed at the respective stations
  • Oversea the dining area, supervises food and beverage service staff in accordance with operating policies that he or she may help establish.
  • Seeks, listens and responds to Guest feedback.

Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English.
  • Ability to review P&L
  • Able to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system

  • Must have the ability to make quick and sound decisions.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Must have a degree/diploma in food & Beverage service or an equivalent of the same from a well-recognized institution.
  • Have a competent knowledge on Customer Service and people management system.
  • Computer literate in MS Suite.
  • Two or more years of front-of-the-house operations and/or experience as a stand-in manager or Management trainee in the service or food and beverage industry-experience.
