George Washington Academy, also known as GWA, is an international school in Morocco.

GWA has approximately 800 students and 247 teaching staff – and recruits approximately 20 teachers from overseas every year.

It has operated since 1998 and this page offers insights about GWA and what it’s like to teach there.

Available Positions

  1. Arabic Teacher.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Demonstrates a solid grasp of instructional content.
  • Prepares lessons that teach GWA standards, using approved material.
  • Assigns appropriate homework.
  • Requests authorization for significant instructional modules that have not been formally approved. (Note: All films should be pre-approved by the teacher’s supervisor.)

Math AA/AI Teacher

Responsibilities with Administrators, Peers and Parents:

  • Fulfilling Administrative Expectations:
  • Contributes to staff meetings.
  • Fulfills other assignments, such as yard duties.
  • Arrives punctually to job assignments.
  • Collaborates with teams to update school standards, curricula and programs.
  • Follows the policies and procedures set forth in the Teacher and Parent/Student Handbooks, and other policy manuals.
  • Follows appropriate lines of authority when addressing issues of concern.
