Job Overview

The School

This is a very exciting time to join Durham International School Kenya. Since opening in January 2021, the school has exceeded expectations.

The school has attracted both local and international families seeking a high-quality UK school education in Nairobi. It fosters a strong family atmosphere and creates an environment where children and young people can flourish.

The school significantly expanded over the last year by opening a second campus in September 2025 for the Upper Prep School and Senior School.

Durham International School Kenya delivers the UK curriculum, IGCSE, and Sixth Form programmes, and currently enrolls students from over 50 nationalities.

The school operates in partnership with Durham School, one of the UK’s oldest schools and a member of the Independent Association of Prep Schools and the HMC, the professional association for heads of the world’s leading independent schools.

The school is also an accredited member of the Council of British International Schools and a member of the Kenya Association of International Schools.

About the Role

Innovative and enthusiastic teachers and leaders form the heart of our learning community. They commit themselves to achieving the highest standards of teaching and learning while supporting every student’s academic, social, emotional, and physical development.

As the school continues to expand, we are seeking an inspirational Design Technology specialist and a current or aspiring middle leader with both vision and attention to detail to join the team shaping the new Durham International Senior School.

Remuneration Terms and Conditions

The school will offer a competitive package that reflects the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Application Process

Interested applicants should complete the Durham Application Form and email it, together with a one-page covering letter, to the Principal at hr@durhamkenya.com.

The application deadline is Tuesday, 2nd June 2026. We strongly encourage candidates to apply as early as possible.

Please note that the school may not consider incomplete applications or applications submitted without both the Covering Application Letter and the Durham Application Form.

The school will contact only shortlisted candidates, and it will conduct initial interviews online. The recruitment team will review applications as they are received, and the school reserves the right to appoint a candidate before the advert closes.

Start Date

Successful candidates should be available to begin work in Nairobi on 26th August 2026.
