Position Summary

Lolldaiga Conservancy seeks to recruit a highly skilled Information Technology (IT) Officer to support the conservancy in leveraging technology to improve its effectiveness and impacts

This includes ensuring the sound installation, administration, and maintenance of our hardware, software, networks, and digital platforms. This role is critical for enabling reliable operations and data-driven decision-making across key systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP), Earth Ranger, and our Digital Booking Ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Helpdesk & Support: Establish and run a structured IT helpdesk to provide timely, professional support to all departments, including office-based and remote field teams.
  • Lifecycle Management: Execute standardized IT onboarding for new employees and formal offboarding procedures to ensure secure revocation of access and recovery of ICT assets.
  • Microsoft 365 Administration: Manage the Microsoft 365 tenant, including user provisioning, Entra ID (MFA) management, SharePoint (Lolldaiga Hub), and Exchange Online.
  • Network Infrastructure: Administer and optimize a multi-user network environment featuring Ubiquiti (UniFi/airMAX) wireless hardware, Starlink satellite connectivity, and GSM signal enhancement units.
  • ERP Operations: Support the day-to-day operation of Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Business Central (ERP), focusing on user adoption, troubleshooting, and access controls.
  • Conservation Tech: Provide technical expertise to strengthen conservation and security technologies, such as supporting the Operations Room, security systems, conservation technologies such as Earth Ranger, and field-based LoRaWAN systems.
  • Business Systems: Support tourism booking and digital access control systems, coordinating with vendors for upgrades and data synchronization.
  • Cybersecurity & Data: Implement endpoint protection, patching, and rigorous backup/recovery testing to protect sensitive operational and financial data.
  • Project & Asset Management: Maintain accurate ICT asset registers and documentation while participating in infrastructure transitions with minimal disruption.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree in IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in systems/network administration and business-critical platforms.
  • Proficiency in Ubiquiti networking, Starlink management, and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Practical understanding of cybersecurity, backup integrity, and data protection.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, and excited to support diverse stakeholders.
  • Growth-focused and continually engaging with new technologies and opportunities.

Added Advantage

  • Direct experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Experience in field conservation contexts, and familiarity with relevant conservation technologies such as Earth Ranger and geospatial technologies.
  • Experience supporting off-grid, solar-powered ICT infrastructure in remote/low- connectivity environments.
  • Familiarity with loT/LoRaWAN sensor networks, drones, or digital access systems.
