Hope Rabai Preparatory School, a private pre-primary institution operating at Riyani, near Mazeras, invites applications from qualified ECDE teachers for the position of

Headteacher / PP2 ECDE Teacher.

The school provides ECDE services to children from vulnerable families within the community.

The school is run by the Rabai Huamwenga Hope CBO. Learners are fully sponsored by a German partner organization and supported with learning materials, meals, and a safe, child-friendly learning environment.

The institution is adequately resourced with permanent classrooms, a staff room, and ECDE teaching and learning materials.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Providing instructional Leadership and day-to-day Management of the Centre
• Teaching PP2 learners in line with the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC)
• Supervising teaching staff and support personnel
• Ensuring proper lesson planning, assessment, and learner progress records
• Implementing County ECDE policies, guidelines, and quality assurance standards
• Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing ECDE learning environment
• Coordinating with parents, community members, CBO members, County ECDE officers, and development partners
• Supporting documentation, enrolment records, and reporting as required by the County Directorate

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE / ECDE) OR
• Diploma in ECDE with a minimum of five (5) years’ teaching experience in Preprimary education
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or relevant ECDE authority
• Demonstrated competence in the implementation of CBC at Pre-Primary level
• Proven leadership, classroom management, and child safeguarding skills
• Ability to work effectively with local and international partners
• Proficiency in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken)

Terms of Engagement

• Contractual appointment (3-years contract), renewable on the basis of satisfactory performance
• Probation period of 6 months
• Remuneration will be based on applicant’s qualifications
• Registration for SHA and NSSF
• Five (5) work days per week (Monday to Friday), lunch provided
• Should be ready to attend to any urgent matter that falls on a Saturday
