St Andrew’s School, Turi is highly respected in Kenya and regarded as one of the leading international schools in East Africa. Numbering 620 pupils, it comprises two semi-autonomous schools: a Preparatory School of circa 250 pupils between the ages of 3 and 13 and a Senior School of circa 370 pupils between the ages of 13 and 18. It is fully coeducational and the great majority are boarders. The School has an overtly Christian foundation and sees its overall aim as encouraging young men and women to ‘live and lead with integrity’.

The Assistant Head Pastoral (AHP), reporting to the Deputy Head Pastoral, is a member of the Senior School Management Team (SSMT) and a leading member of the Pastoral Management Team.
Alongside duties connected to being a member of the SSMT, responsibilities of the AHP include acting as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, managing and leading rewards and sanctions, analysis of pastoral issues, recruitment and leadership of the Pastoral Graduate Assistants, and overall leadership and delivery of the Turi Leadership Award in Sixth Form. The successful candidate will be well supported in their post, and will be offered quality continuing professional development as they grow in their role and their leadership.
Please note that, while this is a significant whole school responsibility, the successful candidate will also have up to a 0.7 teaching timetable.
