This is a very exciting time to be joining Durham International School Kenya. Since it opened in January 2021, Durham International has exceeded expectations.

It has captured the imagination of families – local and international alike – who are seeking a high-quality UK school education in Nairobi, one that goes out of it’s way to create a family feel and an environment where children and young people are able to flourish.

The School has undergone significant expansion in the last year with the opening of a second campus in September 2025 for the Prep School and the Senior School.

Durham International Kenya delivers the UK curriculum, IGCSE, and Sixth Form programmes to students from over 50 nationalities.

one of the UK’s oldest schools, operates Durham International Kenya in partnership with the school. Durham School UK is a member of the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) and the HMC, the professional association of the Heads of the world’s leading independent schools.

The school holds accreditation from the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and maintains membership in the Kenya Association of International Schools (KAIS).

About the Role

As the school continues to expand, we seek to appoint Key Stage 2 teachers who are eager to grow professionally and pursue opportunities in leadership and departmental roles.

Interested applicants should complete the Durham Application Form and email it together with a one-page covering letter to the Headteacher at hr@durhamkenya.com.

Submit applications by Friday 5th June 2026. We encourage candidates to apply as early as possible.

Please ensure you submit both the Covering Application Letter and the Durham Application Form, as incomplete applications may not be considered.

We will contact only shortlisted candidates, and we will conduct initial interviews online.

The school will review applications as they arrive and reserves the right to appoint before the closing date of the advert.

Start Date

Successful candidates should be available to start in Nairobi on 25th August 2026.
