ABOUT THE PROGRAM 

BOMA is currently seeking qualified candidates for: mentor position for the newly awarded Livelihoods and Inclusion for Transformation (LIFT) Northern Kenya project. The Livelihoods and Inclusion for Transformation (LIFT) Northern Kenya project will implement a climate crisis-adapted “green” version of The BOMA Project’s proven poverty graduation model, the Rural Entrepreneur Access Project (REAP) to provide market-based pull by facilitating more competitive, profitable Green Enterprises for women, youth, and refugees within the forest ecosystems in Marsabit, Samburu and Turkana counties and in Kakuma and Kalobeyei Refugee Settlements over a period of 3 years. BOMA will be the Lead partner of the project and will collaborate with Danish Church Aid (DCA) and Smart Regional Consultants (SRC) in implementing the project.

032 Re-advertisement USAID Nawiri Mentor Kokiselei, Turkana

The Nawiri program, named after the Swahili word for “thrive,” is a flagship initiative funded by the USAID Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) and led by Mercy Corps in partnership with Save the Children, Research Triangle Institute (RTI), BOMA, African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), Caritas Lodwar, Frontier Children Development Organization (FCDO), Pastoralist Community Initiative and Development Assistance (PACIDA), and the Samburu Children Program. This eight-year program has a mission of sustainably reducing persistent acute malnutrition (PAM) in Turkana and Samburu counties by 12% by September 2027. In the consortium, BOMA is responsible for implementation of poverty graduation for nutrition interventions with USAID Nawiri conceptual framework.

Under the supervision of Field Officer directly and indirectly by Program Coordinator, the mentor recruited under USAID Nawiri will be responsible for implementation of REAP for Nutrition activities at the targeted mentor location that are designed to graduate ultra poor and nutritional vulnerable households graduate out of poverty and under nutrition

JOB SUMMARY 

The Field Officer position is responsible for the delivery of program, outputs and coordination of Mentors in the assigned zone, in line with USAID Nawiri’s overarching goal of reducing persistent acute malnutrition. The holder of this position shall report to Program Coordinator, Nawiri additionally He/she shall provide direct supervision to Mentors on timely execution of program implementation within budget and on agreed timeliness and targets. The position holder will be based at USAID Nawiri Sub County offices in Samburu County
